Thomson Gray

Commissioned by construction consultancy Thomson Gray, this project involved the design and delivery of a contemporary workplace interior strategy across the company’s five offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, Aberdeen, and Melrose. The brief focused on creating a cohesive visual identity that reflected Thomson Gray’s professional reputation while responding to the distinct character and operational needs of each location.

The design approach centred on balancing functionality with a refined, modern aesthetic. Open-plan workspaces, collaborative meeting areas, and client-facing environments were carefully considered to support productivity, communication, and employee wellbeing. A material palette of natural textures, muted tones, and durable finishes was selected to reflect the company’s connection to the built environment and construction industry.

Each office was designed to feel consistent as part of the wider Thomson Gray brand while incorporating subtle regional influences and site-specific layouts. The result was a series of professional, welcoming, and highly adaptable workspaces that strengthened the company’s identity across Scotland and enhanced both staff and client experience.
